Hello Michael! Happy to join your new page with Seasons’ Greetings to all Cafe friends. Best wishes too for the New Year! May 2015 be a brighter one for Oz lefties.
I find myself writing less and less in this my eightieth year, but still happy to keep reading and across events. Though I must say there is little in the political sphere ‘down-under’ to turn me on. Perhaps if a brave new leader were to turn up on the left and look like bringing Abbott and Co. undone I could get back to writing the odd verse.
Hello Patricia. Nice to see you.
The stats tell me that we still get a number of visitors here everyday so I was dropping in to wish everybody a merry Christmas.
” Refugee resettlement has created 70 full-time jobs and added $40 million to a struggling rural Victorian town’s economy, a new study shows.
Since early 2010, about 170 Karen refugees from Myanmar (Burma) have resettled at Nhill in western Victoria’s wheatbelt, with the majority taking up work with poultry producer Luv-a-Duck …..” http://www.sbs.com.au/news/article/2015/04/23/refugee-resettlement-adds-40m-struggling-victorian-towns-economy
