HOWARD’S WAY IS THE ONLY WAY!

Mig’s topic about Abbott selling his arse prompted me to think about how the LNP will sell him (and the LNP) at the election, which is still not due for at least 12 months.

So I’m looking for suggestions as to what will be the LNP slogan for the next election.

Here’s a few from the past:

1974: THINK AGAIN

1975: TURN ON THE LIGHTS

1983: WE’RE NOT WAITING FOR THE WORLD

1984: STAND UP FOR YOUR FAMILY

1987: GET IN FRONT AGAIN

1990: THE ANSWER IS LIBERAL

1996: FOR ALL OF US

1998: KEEP AUSTRALIA IN SAFE HANDS

2001: HEADING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION

2010: STAND UP FOR REAL ACTION, go for growth.

Pretty asinine, but don’t worry, Labor’s aren’t much better.

But this is about the LNP. (if the post is successful we’ll do Labor next week…) In other words Iain et al you’ll get your chance. 🙂

So go for it, and the more puns the merrier.

What will be the LNP slogan for 2013?

And PLEASE, nothing serious. (Well almost).

  1. Nice ones Signe.
I’d follow up with a comment but I don’t want this to be turned into a slanging match.

    It’s about fun!!!!

  2. Julia Gillard’s next appointment, audition for Circ de Soleil, for acrobatics, that she can blame on another choreographer.

  3. “the Liberal Party: the workers party” …. ” For a fair Australia vote 1 the Liberals, the working Australians friend”…… “Protect your job from the Union menace, vote 1 Liberals”…… of course only Gina, Clive, twiggy and Rupert are ‘real’ “workers”… oh and Tony…… the rest of us are just bludging bludgers…
I hope they hold the election on Opposite day and the whole country votes Liberal… 😀 ……. I think Tony lives in a perpetual ‘Opposite Day’, soughta like ‘Ground Hog Day’ but without the “liar’s paradox”. 😀

  4. It may surprise you may long eared friend but I tend to agree that election slogans are generally a stupid phrase and really they are an anachronism from the times of lower literacy and the supremacy of the the mass media. Now that we have the internet being the primary source of people getting their fix of politics, we have the parties using a more diffuse method of getting their message across to the voters. I look forward to you highlighting Labor clangers because they ahve had some real dud too.
    😀

  5. I am here to enlighten and save you. The great Father has sent me. I am all wise and knowing. I have known this from when I was a little boy. Tinkled around with being Pope, but I know this is what god meant for me.

  6. There is only one slogan for an Abbott led party going into an election, and it doesn’t even need three words for which his brain is incapable of surpassing.

    No

Cheap to produce, and a very simple slogan for a simply negative party. Says it all about them in one word.

But the underlying message is powerful.

No to looking after the marginalised and less well off.
No to looking after the workers.
    No to infrastructure.
No to public health and well being.
No to public education and skills.
    No to services.

YES to whatever our wealthy masters want.

  7. Go for Growth with the “Liberals”

    Growth in wage cuts
    Growth in job insecurity
Growth in loss of workplace conditions
    Growth in workplace executive tyranny
    Growth in foreign debt
    Growth in personal debt
    Growth in business debt
    Growth in homelessness
    Growth in bankruptcies
    Growth in inflation
    Growth in interest rates
    Growth in Current Account deficit
    Growth in government advertising expenditure
    Growth in middle class welfare
Growth in unnatural relationships with religious extremists
    Growth in scapegoating of minorities
    Growth in greenhouse gas emissions
    Growth in media concentration

  8. Someone got that “staff” picture where it says ;”Our professional and intelligent staff are here to assist you!”…..something like that, only there is Tony and the boys.. w/bishop!

  9. The Government’s response had been expected this week.

Ms Gillard says school funding must drive better outcomes and higher standards in Australian schools.

“I am worried as Prime Minister that whilst our school reform work is gathering results because our schools were neglected for too long under the former government we are now slipping behind the education race in our region and in the world,” she said.

“That’s ultimately bad news for our economy.”

Believe this belongs here. Reminding us of Howard’s in education.

  10. You would have to be stupid to vote Labor, you only have to look to us. Vote Liberal (Min rushes to wash mouth out with soap and water).

  11. TRUST US…WE KNOW HOW TO CONTROL BLACK HOLES

TRUST US…WE KNOW WHAT’S BEST FOR BUSINESS & HOW YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE

    N’

  12. TONY ABBOTT’S LNP…THE RECESSION YOU HAVE TO HAVE

VOTE COALITION TO ENSURE CONPASSIONATE CONSERVATIVE GOVERNMENTS ACROSS THIS DEPUTY SHERIFF NATION

VOTE LNP…WHAT HAVE YOU GOT TO LOSE?

  13. Could it be something memorable and inoffensive like: REAL SOLUTIONS FOR REAL PROBLEMS? Read into that, swing voter in marginal seat, what you will.

  14. Thanks for that. I missed out last time. Did not get a mouse pad either.

Min, the legalisation will be easy. It is all about dismantlling and demolishing. That should not be hard.

  15. Cu plus sacking public servants..Abbott won’t needs these people because he’ll have no policies to implement and administer anyway…
